Privacy Policy

How the One at a Time app handles information.

Effective date: 2026-09-22
Last updated: 2026-09-22

One at a Time (the “App”) respects your privacy and handles information according to this policy. The App requires no account, and the developer does not operate any server that collects users' personal information.

1. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following information only on your device. The developer never receives or views it.

  • Task names, steps, resume notes, task status (not started, in progress, paused, on hold, done) and when they were recorded
  • Templates and task sets (Plus)
  • Timer state, display, notification and vibration settings, and whether the tutorial has been shown
  • A record of your Plus purchase status (to check your entitlement)

2. Information we do not collect

The App does not ask you to register a name, email address, or similar details. It also does not ask for health information such as diagnoses or medication.

The App contains no usage analytics tools.

If you use your keyboard's voice input to enter task names, that processing is handled by your operating system or keyboard provider. The App does not record or store audio.

3. Advertising

The free version shows banner ads and full-screen (interstitial) ads through Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Ads are not shown once you purchase One at a Time Plus.

To deliver ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud, Google may collect advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device and OS information, and information about ad views and interactions. This information is handled in accordance with Google's policies.

The task names, steps, notes and other content you enter in the App are never used for ads or sent to Google. See the following pages for details.

4. Ad consent and tracking permission

In regions where consent is required by law, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK and Switzerland, we ask for your ad consent using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy settings in the App.

On iOS, the App asks through App Tracking Transparency (ATT) whether you allow tracking for advertising. The App shows its own explanation just before this prompt. You can use every feature of the App without allowing tracking; in that case, ads are shown without using the advertising identifier. You can change your choice in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

If you have purchased Plus, no ads are shown and these prompts do not appear.

5. Notifications

Only if you turn on notifications in Settings, the App uses local notifications scheduled on your device. It notifies you when a timer ends and once at a resume time you choose yourself.

You can choose in Settings whether task names appear in notifications. If they do, they may also appear on your lock screen. No information is sent externally for notifications. You can change notification permission in your device settings at any time.

6. In-app purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase, One at a Time Plus. Payment is processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and the developer never receives payment information such as credit card numbers.

Purchases are verified on your device using the purchase information provided by each store. “Restore purchase” restores your Plus entitlement only; it does not restore the contents of templates or task sets.

For how payment information is handled, see each store's privacy policy.

7. Data export and backups

With Settings > Export data, the App creates a file (JSON) containing your tasks, steps, templates and task sets, and you choose where to save or send it using your device's share feature. You choose the destination; the file is never sent to the developer.

If your device backup (iCloud Backup or Google backup) is turned on, App data may be included in backups. Backups are handled according to the policies of each service provider.

8. Deleting data

Settings > Delete all data removes tasks, steps, notes, templates, task sets and settings from your device. Deleted data cannot be recovered (your Plus purchase status remains).

Uninstalling the App also deletes its data from your device (unless it is included in a device backup).

9. Links to external sites

When the App is displayed in Japanese, the “Where to get help & about this app” screen includes links to external sites such as public institutions. These links open in your browser, and information on those sites is handled according to each site's policy.

10. Sharing with third parties

We do not provide or sell your information to third parties, except as required by law. As described above, the App uses Google's services for advertising and Apple's and Google's services for payments.

11. Children's privacy

The App is not primarily directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. This website and the contact form

This website (the app's introduction site) uses Google Analytics to understand how it is visited. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects access information in a form that does not identify individuals. The site also uses a cookie to remember your display language.

The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. The name, email address, device information and message you enter are used only to reply to your inquiry and to investigate and fix problems.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in laws or in the App's features. We will announce important changes on this page. The updated policy takes effect when it is posted on this page.

14. Contact

If you have questions about this policy or how the App handles information, please reach us through the contact page.
